Victor Santana is a guitarist, arranger, teacher, and member of various ensembles. Born in Brasilia, Brazil, in 1991 and based in Berlin since 2015, he holds a Master of Music from the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin, where he studied with Prof. Dr. Daniel Göritz, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Brasília, Brazil.

Victor starts learning the piano at the age 10, but only for 1 year. In 2007 at the age 16, he starts to self-taught learning the guitar and soon after starts taking formal lessons for about 2 years. At age 18 he is approved in the Bachelor studies at the Brasilia University, concluding it in 2014. In the coming year he is approved in the Masters at the Hanns Eisler Music University, in Berlin, concluding it in 2017, exactly 10 years after start learning the guitar.

As a performer and arranger, Santana’s interests range from the European classical tradition to folk and contemporary music, which he translates into innovative arrangements and chamber music settings. He performes in trios and duos with guitarists, singers, flutists, and cellists from around the world, frequently premiering his own arrangements tailored to each ensemble. Recordings of those collaborations are available on streaming platforms and feature works by Villa-Lobos, Bach, Rachmaninoff, Schubert, and Chopin, alongside Latvian, Ukrainian, Jewish, Turkish, and Indian folk music. Santana has played at major cultural venues across Brazil, as a soloist with the Brasília Symphony Orchestra ,and had also received 1st prize awards in competitions such as Música no Museu and BdMG Cultural (Brazil). In Germany, he has performed in cities as Hannover, Potsdam, Hamburg and Berlin.

As a musical director, Santana has led projects such as instrumental accompaniment for amateur choirs and curated chamber concerts for cultural institutions and benefit events—including performances supporting humanitarian causes in Ukraine and the Middle East.

Santana is a passionate educator. Committed to lifelong learning and deeply interested in growth, he is developing his own comprehensive method for learning guitar and music from the beginning through to the professional level, using the tool of arranging also to build pieces and material for beginners. He taught for eight years at the Johann Sebastian Bach Municipal Music School in Potsdam and currently teaches at the Fanny Hensel Music School in Berlin, where he continues to inspire, and be inspired by, the next generation of musicians.
